In a great session, Sam and I knocked out quite a few ribs, and figured out some of the challenges we were running into on the trailing edge spanwise rivets. We tried everything from Squeezing to back riveting, but in the end, the most inboard rivets that are blocked by the doublers need to be riveted with a traditional mushroom rivet set, and a nice bucking bar. After a couple practices, Sam and I had our groove on, and completed the trailing edge.
With momentum back (and apparently a back rivet set that won’t break every session!), the next few sessions will be all about finishing the top skin riveting. That’ll culminate in removing the wings off the cradle. I’ll report back then. In the mean time…. Happy Building!
